This morning, at an event organized by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Thiem 2 Bridge was officially renamed as Ba Son Bridge.
Ba Son Bridge plays a crucial role in connecting Ton Đuc Thang Street (District 1) with the new urban area of Thu Thiem (in Thu Duc City). After 7 years under construction, Ba Son Bridge was completed and opened to traffic in April 2022. With a total length of over 1.4km, the bridge was constructed with a substantial investment of over 3,100 billion VND.
Ba Son Bridge features a unique cable-stayed design with prominent main towers, serving as a distinctive landmark of the city and a gateway from the HCMC’s current CBD to the new Thủ Thiêm urban area, HCMC’s future CBD. The bridge’s artistic lighting system, along with its architectural beauty, creates a remarkable focal point on the Saigon River.
In addition to improving travel efficiency, Ba Son Bridge is expected to further drive socioeconomic development in the area. It directly benefits various projects, including The Hallmark Grade A+ office tower within the mixed-use complex of residential apartments, office buildings, and commercial centers known as The Metropole Thủ Thiêm, as well as numerous surrounding projects.
